You Too Old to Be So Disobedient

We expect children to be hardheaded. You tell children ten times before they hear it once. Eventually they get it and their lives become peaceful. Once they become adults, life gets manageable. However, for some, life is a constant struggle.

Obedience brings blessing and favor. We are the Lord's children, and He expects us to be obedient, no matter our age. No one is exempt and just because you are an adult, does not mean you can do as you please. You may because we have will, but the life of a mature believer is one where will is crucified.

""I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." -Galatians 2:20

A crucified life is one where our wants are second to the Lord's wants. We hide our desires in Him and live to please Him. The Lord wants glory from His creation and we were created in His image and likeness; therefore, everything we do, say, and think should reflect a new life in Christ, not the life we lived before we were born again.

If God says don't do it, then we don't do it and we should not want to. Lives that have not surrendered continue the patterns of the carnal minded. They sin without remorse, do not repent, and have no relationship or fellowship with the Holy Spirit. There is no growth or maturity in their walk with Jesus. Obedience remains a choice and not a mandate.

Remember, the blessings of the Lord only come when we obey God's Word. If you want the riches of the kingdom, begin to live like a citizen of the kingdom and not of this world. His joy, peace, and love, will be yours forever.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? - Matthew 16:24-16
