One Day

There is much death in the earth. It seems more than usual. Celebrities, athletes, politicians, and people of note are dying. These people are now in eternity, and not all have entered heaven. The enemy wants us to be deceived in thinking all people go to heaven when they die. They don't. Only those who believe that Jesus is Savior and Lord will enter into heaven. The rest will go to hell until the great judgement, and they hell will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14)

Each of us will give an account to God for everything we have done in our body with the time the Lord gave us. His expectation was for us to complete our assignments to give Him glory with our time, talents, and treasures. There will be no excuses when we stand before Him and no one to blame. (Romans 14:12)

Hell is a real place full of torment. Think of the worst pain you have had in your body. Now envision that pain never going away. That is how hell will torment you. The good news is you don't have to go. Hell is for unbelievers, so if you confess Christ as Lord and believe His finished work on the cross, you are saved and born again. (Romans 10:9,10)

In Luke 16, Jesus teaches the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man treated Lazarus poorly. The rich man died and went to hell. Lazarus died and went to heaven. The rich man begged for Lazarus to dip his finger in the water cool his tongue for he was tormented in the flame.

These days are evil and we do not know when the Lord will call for us. In the meantime, we must live like we know the Lord and tell everyone about eternal life. Make no assumptions about who is and who is not saved. Tell everyone you know, family, friends, children, co-workers, neighbors, even people you worship with. Unless you are born again you will not enter the kingdom of God. (John 3)

To be born again you must:

  1. Confess your sins to the Lord. (Romans 3:213)

  2. Admit that you should die for your sins. (Romans 6:23)

  3. Believe Jesus died, shed His blood, and gave His body for your sins. (Romans 5:8)

  4. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart Jesus is Lord. Give Him your heart and life. (Romans 10:9,10)

Everyone won't make it. There are family members, children, friends, neighbors, spouses, and other good people you will never see again when you die. They never received the gospel message or confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior. Their souls will be lost forever. You may be their last hope for salvation. Be determined not to let them die outside the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Tell them.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” - John 11:25,26
