What Really Matters

Many false prophets are declaring the return of Christ due to all the chaos in the earth. No one knows the time or the day, not even Christ Himself. Only the Father knows. While His return is imminent, He will only return for His bride, His body. He is not coming back because the world is wicked. The world has been wicked since Adam and Eve defiled the Garden of Eden.

Rather than look up for His return, we should focus on what really matters - winning the lost. We are surrounded by generations of people who do not know the Lord. They do not know Jesus saves, heals, and delivers. They do not know His love, grace, or mercy. They do not know they can choose heaven or hell. They do not know that Jesus can give them a wonderful life. The Lord will return when He is ready. Until He comes, let's focus on winning souls.

Heaven is real, but so is hell. God did not create hell for sinners. If a sinless life was a condition for heaven, no one would be allowed inside those pearly gates. Hell was not created for sinners. It was created for unbelievers. Unbelievers are those who do not accept the saving grace of our Lord. They believe their works will get them into heaven, or hell does not exist and we all we meet in heaven after we die. This deception of the enemy prevents people from spending eternity with the Father. We must give an account for every thought, word, and deed done in this life. Even believers should repent at that thought alone.

Paul told Timothy to do the work of an evangelist. (II Timothy 4:5). He also said to be sober, endure hardness, and do right in the sight of God. This is the call and price of discipleship. We must set the right example of Christ if we have any hope of winning the lost - set the right example. Churchism has deceived us to believe we can live how we want and please the Lord. Faith is the only thing that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith requires belief. If you don't believe the Word, you will never live by it. You won't set an example and people will place no trust in the Lord or in your testimony.

Think about the family members and friends who will perish in their sins because of the example and witness you have set. Our inconsistency as believers and disciples sends the wrong message to the world about the sacrifice needed to follow Christ. The world believes you can be spiritual and carnal. We will not change the world allowing this lie to exist. We have a charge to keep - make disciples and let the world know Jesus. One of the best messages I heard was entitled, "Put a Face of Jesus." We will not make disciples unless people see Jesus through our lifestyle committed to practicing the faith of our Lord.

Wars and rumors of wars have been since the beginning. Political unrest since the beginning. Famine, pestilence, and disease since the beginning. Solomon said there is nothing new under the son (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Therefore, we should stop worrying about when the Lord will return and focus our energy on winning as many souls as possible.

Souls matter to the Lord. Souls should matter to us.
