"And He appointed twelve [disciples], so that they would be with Him [for instruction] and so that He could send them out to preach [the gospel as apostles—that is, as His special messengers, personally chosen representatives]," - Mark 3:14
It is a privilege to be chosen by the Lord to serve Him. That service comes with testing, trial, tribulation, and suffering. It is an honor to suffer for the Lord's kingdom. That suffering brings reward in this life and in eternity. We only need remember that we are not here for ourselves. We are here to serve others.
The world need us. If you have not noticed, wickedness and evil increase daily. Satan has his way with those who allow him. Only Jesus can change a troubled heart, mend a wounded spirit, and heal a sin-sick soul. Jesus chose us to make that message clear to the world. Jesus saves, heals, and delivers.
Refusing to be used by the Lord brings grief. The world's way is deceiving and does not yield the fruit of righteousness. The world brings hurt, sadness, and pain. It keeps minds in bondage and torments the soul. People are committing suicide in alarming numbers because they want the pain of emptiness to go away. Nothing in the flesh can cure the soul of man. Only a relationship with Jesus can fix the brokenness of life.
Marvin Winans wrote a song called, "Who's Gonna Tell Them?" He tells the story of driving by a bar in a city where he ministered while a fight broke out. His driver remarked of the shame and said the people fighting needed Jesus. Bishop Winans wrote these words; "Who's gonna tell them Jesus loves them. Who's gonna tell them there's a better way. Who's gonna warn them of the things coming on them; so God can turn their nights to day."
There is no time for us to be selfish family and only think of ourselves. More than ever we need to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ. People are dying without knowing the Lord, sealing their souls to eternal darkness. If the Lord has chosen you, tell as many people as you can while you have time. You may be the last person to give them a hope to change their life and give them the love they need to find peace, love, and joy.
